Green Zebra,  Open-pollinated

(78 days)  Tart, 2 inch green fruit sweeten as they slowly ripen to a yellow-gold with dark green stripes.   This determinate, often erroneously listed as a heirloom, is actually a cross of 4 heirlooms by Evertt, WA, plant breeder Tom Wagner.  Tom first offered it for sell in 1983.   Soon the tomato was popularized by being featured at Alice Waters'  Chez Panisse restaurant in Berkeley, CA.  Expect good yields of 3 oz fruits great for sauces, salads, sandwiches, or pickles.
